GPRS - General Packet Radio Services
The primary line of communication between sub-stations within the power network is the Optical Ground Wire, or OPGW, owned and operated by the PowerGrid Corporation of India. GPRS is intended to function as a secondary channel for communication between these terminal elements in the events of primary communication line failure, acting as the default fallback line. The project is undertaken by PMAS and have been successfully completed and currently we are working swiftly towards wider network penetration.
